Following Christ's Command
It all starts with obedience. Obedience to do our part in following the Lord’s command to take the Gospel message to the lost. The apostle Paul, in Romans 1:16 stated, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Gentiles).”

At Zion’s Hope, this is our mission mandate. From hosting traditional, in-depth home Bible studies in Florida, to utilizing some of the most advanced technology available in Israel to reach the unsaved, Zion’s Hope missionaries are touching lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in truly amazing ways.

And while we eagerly desire that all people come to a saving knowledge of the Messiah, Zion’s Hope has a unique emphasis on reaching out to the Jewish community in strategic locations like South Florida and Jerusalem, Israel.

But simply stating an emphasis of ministering to Jewish people is not enough to be an effective witness to them. It takes both action and a dedicated team of people with the right training and a proper understanding of God’s Word to serve in this capacity. It also takes a commitment to care deeply for people - for their spiritual needs, but also for their physical and emotional needs.

Our mission team understands that being an effective witness for Christ can many times require them to “get their hands dirty” and sometimes can require great sacrifice.

But every person they meet is different, with a distinct background and a unique set of circumstances that surround their lives. So each Zion’s Hope missionary has a unique ministry focus.

Some, like Marion Rosenthal in South Florida, work tirelessly, teaching several home Bible studies each week. She works closely with the elderly and the unloved. Many of these individuals have lost their spouses and are alone. Marion picks up groceries for them, drives them to doctor appointments, counsels them, and teaches them. With sensitivity to their cultural roots and distinctive Jewish upbringing, she graciously and uncompromisingly shares the truth of God’s Word with hungry hearts.

Others of our team like John in Jerusalem work within the structure of a local body of believers to teach the Bible and evangelize through a variety of innovative methods. These include personal, one-on-one tract distribution, newspaper and billboard advertising, and the development of a dynamic, Bible-based website that provides answers to questions that Jewish people have concerning Jesus. Understanding Jewish culture and customs are one of the keys to reaching these people and helping them understand that Jesus is the One of whom their prophets foretold, and the fulfillment of their own Old Testament Scriptures.

Still others of our team, like Tony, work not only among the Jewish Russian immigrants in Israel, but also amongst the Arab community. His bold witness includes hosting free, one-day Bible teaching tours into the beautiful Judean desert and multi-day tours into Jordan to teach onsite at Mt. Nebo, Petra, and other biblical locations. Tony has realized that one of the greatest assets he has been given is the ability to teach the Bible onsite in the actual historical places where these biblical events occurred. His passion to evangelize in these locations is truly remarkable, but comes with personal risk.

David, a native-born Israeli works with Israeli soldiers who have been injured in service as well as Israeli citizens who have been injured in terrorist attacks. As a former Israeli Army paratrooper who was wounded in action, he has a unique ability to gain entrance into their lives and bring them comfort and hope with the saving message of the Gospel.

These and other courageous individuals serve as part of the vital and vibrant work that the Lord is doing through the ministry of Zion’s Hope. We ask for your prayers for our mission team - for increased opportunities to share the love of our Messiah, for safety, and for blessing.
